I've asked people who've come to visit, "What relaxing sounds should I record next?" And the response I often receive is, "your fish tank!" I'm so used to the sound I hardly notice it anymore, but I realized it is pleasant in a bubbly white noise way. Many people find it soothing and it provides a great backdrop for when you need to study, focus or fall asleep. Some people tell me it brings back great memories of an aquarium they once had.
For the record, I have a parrot fish that enjoys dance parties, giving kisses, following your finger and is basically like a miniature, aquatic dog.
